Is RoleLever still a mock-interview tool?

Yes, that’s still the engine. What changed is what sits around it. You can now save the job, score your fit against your real experience, tailor a résumé from that experience, and track the application, so that by the time you get to the interview the practice is aimed at that specific role’s gaps instead of generic questions. The voice interview and the scored report work exactly as they always have.

How is job fit actually scored?

Against the job’s must-haves only. Nice-to-haves are reported, but they stay out of the headline verdict, which is one of strong, solid, stretch or reach. A match that’s adjacent rather than direct (a peer tool, say) counts half. And it’s scored against your untailored evidence bank on purpose: the question we want answered is “do I have the material for this role,” not “did the model phrase it well.”

Can the résumé tailoring exaggerate my experience?

No, by construction. Tailoring can only rewrite how your banked experience is said. It can’t claim a tool, a metric, a date, an employer or a scope your bank doesn’t record. 17 truthfulness checks run on every tailored résumé, and any bullet without support gets flagged with a trace back to its source. When the evidence genuinely doesn’t support the role, the tailor declines and shows you the gap instead of quietly inventing coverage. You can also let it match the target job title, which re-points your most recent role’s title at the job’s, and tells you it did under “Role titles adjusted for this job.”

What do I actually get on the free plan?

The whole workspace. Saving jobs, fit scoring, the evidence bank, résumé tailoring with the truthfulness checks and exports, the application pipeline and prep plans aren’t gated behind a paid tier. Two limits apply: your monthly interview-minutes budget (10 on Free), which meters voice interviews only, and a cap of 25 résumé tailors per day. Paid plans buy you more interview minutes and longer sessions, not access to the rest.

If Claude can drive it, isn’t this an interview copilot?

No. The split is the whole point: Claude finds and reads postings; RoleLever owns every judgement: fit, what a truthful résumé says, and what to drill. And voice interviews can’t run over the connection at all; those tools just hand you a link to open the app. There’s nothing here that sits in a live interview and feeds you answers. That’s still the one thing we won’t build.

Do I need to use the résumé and pipeline features?

No. Start anywhere. Plenty of people only run mock interviews, and that path is unchanged. The rest is there when the search gets big enough that you can’t hold it in your head.

How is RoleLever different from ChatGPT?

A chat window will happily rewrite your résumé with words you can’t back up, and it forgets you between sessions. No, and that’s the point. RoleLever is preparation you do before the interview, not a tool that feeds you answers during a live one. Real-time “AI interview assistant” copilots risk getting you flagged, and leave you unable to do the job you were hired for. That holds for the Claude connection too: it can save, score, tailor, prep and track, but voice interviews can’t run through it, so you open the app and talk. Does RoleLever help with interview anxiety and going blank?

Yes. People rarely freeze or go blank from lack of knowledge. It’s nerves, and never having said the answers out loud under real pressure. Is my interview audio private?

Your interview audio is stored so you can replay it and so it can back your verified badge. You can delete any recording or turn off storage anytime in your profile, and recruiters never receive your audio unless you explicitly share a recording.

How does scoring work?

After each interview you get a scored report: per-question feedback, a model answer for every question, and a breakdown of your competencies over time.

How consistent is the scoring?

Every interview is scored against the same competency rubric, so your results are comparable from session to session and your progress is measured the same way each time. Scores are AI-generated practice guidance to help you improve, not a hiring decision.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. You can start practicing on the free plan without a credit card.

How many interviews do I get?

Each plan includes a monthly allowance of interview minutes (Free 10, Pro 200, Premium 450, Ultra 1,200) plus a limit on how long a single interview can run. Minutes reset on the 1st of the month (UTC) and don’t roll over; when you run out you can upgrade or wait for the reset. The budget meters voice interviews only. Fit scoring, the guided intake and résumé tailoring don’t spend it. Tailoring has its own limit of 25 a day.

Can I cancel anytime, and what happens to my data?

Yes. Paid plans are month-to-month and you can cancel anytime from your billing settings; you keep access until the end of the period. Your interviews and reports stay in your account, and you can delete any recording or your whole account whenever you like.

Is RoleLever only for software engineers?
